Many thanks for all those people who responded to the consultation on our proposal to change the name of our school.The Governors are pleased to confirm that from 1stSeptember 2012, the name of our school will be the Thomas Gainsborough School, Great Cornard.
The response to this proposal was overwhelmingly supportive. Our new name reflects the fact that the school serves a community well beyond Great Cornard. It is a school that has high expectations of its students. The Governors of the Thomas Gainsborough School have stated that this should be a school that:
“provides an education of sufficient breadth and balance that every student is able to maximise their potential. Each student is able to develop their self confidence in a learning culture of mutual respect. They will go on to become honest, resilient, happy young people who make a positive contribution to their community.”
It will continue to be a school that provides,
“Excellence: for each, for all.” |
